ATLANTA, GA – August 8, 2024 – The Georgia Social Impact Collaborative (GSIC) is pleased to announce that Sydney England will serve as the new Executive Director. Sydney joins GSIC having spent the past decade working in various capacities in the field of impact investing.

The Georgia Social Impact Collaborative was formed by a group of community leaders dedicated to developing a robust ecosystem around impact investing in Georgia. By bringing together our region’s leaders from all sectors of our social fabric, GSIC envisions an energetic and dynamic network of resources that elevates our social impact ecosystem.

In her new role, Sydney will lead GSIC in its mission to develop a diverse, connected statewide ecosystem of stakeholders actively engaged in aligning capital with social outcomes. Her leadership will be instrumental in furthering GSIC’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community that supports impact investing initiatives across the state. Sydney’s dedication to social impact and her strategic leadership skills make her a perfect fit for GSIC as the organization continues to grow and expand its reach.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sydney as our new Executive Director,” said Sam Moss, Chair of GSIC’s Board of Directors. “Her expertise and vision will be invaluable as we continue to build a strong foundation for impact investing in Georgia. We look forward to the fresh perspectives and innovative ideas she will bring to our organization along with the broader ecosystem.”

Sydney’s work in the impact investing field includes a role at the Jessie Ball duPont Fund – a private, place-based foundation located in Jacksonville, Florida. Following her time at the Fund, Sydney joined an innovative consulting practice started by Locus – a community development financial institution headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. While at Locus, Sydney worked with dozens of place-based foundations and blended finance funds across the country as they developed new impact investing programs and investment vehicles. Her work at Locus helped foundations bring nearly $100M back to local communities in the form of new impact investing programs. Sydeny also worked to establish innovative financing funds like Invest Appalachia, LLC and the Partners for Rural Transformation’s Persistent Opportunities Fund.

“My work over the past decade has offered me a field-level view of how impact investing is growing and evolving around the country and beyond. I have tremendous respect for the role that organizations like the Georgia Social Impact Collaborative play in encouraging and growing the impact investing movement across the state,” shared Sydney England. “GSIC is an essential part of the education, convening, and thought leadership landscape that allows more capital to flow into mission-driven and social impact ventures. I’m thrilled to start working alongside established leaders and organizations across the state to ensure that Georgia’s abundant human and financial capitals are working for its communities and residents!”

Sydney will represent GSIC at the Atlanta Impact Finance Meetup event hosted from 8:15 – 10:00 AM on August 14, 2024 at Flatiron City building in downtown.
