In fall 2016, several Atlanta colleagues convened to confront a shared concern that impact investing was not developing in Georgia at the pace seen elsewhere. We decided to launch a sustained, collective effort to encourage impact investing across the state. Working as an informal collaborative, we formed a Steering Committee that includes representation from key constituencies, identified several initial priorities, and launched the “Georgia Social Impact Collaborative” or GSIC. GSIC’s purpose is to be a catalyst for the development of Georgia’s impact investing ecosystem.
