    Founding GSIC

    A group of Georgia’s leading philanthropic, entrepreneurial, and investment professionals attended the Social Capital Markets (SOCAP) Conference. Inspired by the conference, this group began envisioning the potential of establishing a statewide impact investing network in Georgia – leading to the launch of GSIC!

    Assessing the Ecosystem

    GSIC’s early leaders build a pilot database of social enterprises and their impact investments. This early mapping and landscape assessment exercise would become GSIC’s first major thought-leadership contribution, and it would bloom into a larger exercise, drawing in funders, CDFIs, and other interested parties from across Atlanta and beyond.

    Launching the Ecosystem Map

    GSIC convened 75+ stakeholders to reveal the final landscape assessment findings report and announced the coming launch of GSIC’s Ecosystem Map.

  • Fall 2018

    Promoting Impact Investing Practice

    Starting in Fall 2018, GSIC began hosting regular educational content, trainings, and educational sessions on impact investing topics like philanthropic impact investing, Pay for Success, New Markets Tax Credits, Social Impact Bonds, CDFIs, and more.

  • Fall 2022

    Launching the PRI Toolkit

    In response to member questions and inquires, GSIC created the PRI Toolkit. This four-piece guide included information on Impact Investing 101, Georgia Examples, PRI Resources and Local Experts. Each one is meant to help foundations on their journey of putting creative capital to work, leveraging capital, and blending different forms of capital.

    Hosting Georgia’s CDFI Conference

    GSIC held its first large-scale event, the “State of Georgia CDFI Conference.” This conference was an opportunity to identify Georgia’s CDFIs and their impact, foster collaboration within the ecosystem, and educate stakeholders on the value of investing in CDFIs. We aim to amplify beneficiary stories, accelerate capital deployment, and celebrate the successes of Georgia’s CDFI community while sharing insights broadly.
